Course Description:

Apparel This technical lab course focuses on apparel from the perspectives of personal decision making related to apparel, the apparel industry, and career preparation.
Consumer and Family Economics This course provides foundational training in the area of food science and technology.  The course addresses consumer rights and responsibilities, family spending decisions, issues affecting consumers and the U.S. economy, effective consumer buying and consumer protection, credit management, technology implications, retirement planning, and family financial security.
Housing The course focuses on the management of family housing needs, housing and the environment, and career preparation.  Content includes types of housing, legal fan financial aspects of housing, home safety and maintenance, space utilization, factors affecting housing choices, technology applications, and basic housing construction features.
Nutrition and Food Science This course provides foundational training in the area of food science and technology.  Content addresses food science principles; nutrition and wellness; food technology; world food supply; managing multiple family, community and wage-earner roles; and career options in nutrition, food science, and food technology.
Preparation for Parenting This lab course is designed to provide individuals opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in preparation to function effectively in the role of parent or caregiver.
Interior Design This lab course focuses on the design of residential and nonresidential interior environments to achieve occupant well-being and productivity.  Content addresses design practices and influences, lighten, material, furnishings, legal considerations, and the impact of technology on interiors.
Individual and Family Life This course is designed to focus on personal development, interpersonal relationships, effective individual and family functioning, and career preparation - all within a changing society.
Personal and Family Development This lab course is designed to address a broad range of knowledge and skills related to personal development and management, promotion of strong families, and preparation for adult rules.  Focus on interpersonal skills; decision-making; promotion of family strengths and well-being; developing positive relationships with peers; child development and car; and clothing selection and maintenance.
