Williams with the Bowmans

Henderson ISD board member Jean Williams has been recognized as a Master Trustee after completing the Texas Association of School Boards’ year-long Leadership TASB program. Williams, who has served Henderson students as a trustee for 24 years, was honored during a special graduation ceremony last week at the Summer Leadership Institute in Fort Worth.

“This recognition reflects Ms. Williams’ commitment to our students and her dedication to helping kids,” said Henderson ISD Superintendent Brian Bowman. “We are proud of her work and thankful for the leadership she continues to bring to our district.”

As part of the Class of 2025, Williams participated in a series of learning sessions across the state and collaborated with trustees from districts of all sizes. In February, the group took part in the first-ever Leadership TASB Connect & Ignite Conference, where they met with lawmakers at the Capitol, networked with LTASB alumni, and visited Hutto ISD to explore innovative practices in public education.

The Master Trustee designation is the highest level of achievement TASB offers to board members through its leadership development programs. Each year, a select group of experienced trustees from across the state are chosen to participate based on their leadership in their local districts and communities.

Leadership TASB is considered the premier leadership training program of its kind in Texas. Since its founding in 1990, more than 1,000 trustees have completed the program, which focuses on governance, advocacy and leadership development.

The experience is designed to strengthen public education by building stronger, more informed local leaders through shared learning and statewide collaboration.
