Henderson Independent School District has named Stacey Johnson as Interim Assistant Superintendent of Policy and Operations, effective Dec. 20.
Johnson currently serves as executive director of the Henderson ISD Education Foundation. She retired from the district in 2017 after serving as assistant superintendent and was later rehired to lead the Education Foundation. She will serve in the interim role until a permanent assistant superintendent of operations is hired.
Johnson brings nearly 40 years of service to Henderson ISD, having served as a teacher, campus principal, and district administrator.
“Stacey’s depth of experience and understanding of our district are invaluable,” said Superintendent Brian Bowman. “Her leadership will provide continuity and stability during this transition, and we are grateful for her willingness to step in and serve.”
Johnson fills the vacancy left by Dr. Terry Everitt, who is leaving Henderson ISD to become superintendent of Timpson ISD. Everitt’s final day with the district is Dec. 19.
