Dr. Nikki Driver has been named the new principal of Henderson Middle School.
The decision follows a selection process that included direct input from Henderson Middle School staff. Superintendent Brian Bowman met with staff members in small groups to gather feedback on the qualities and leadership characteristics they wanted in their next principal. Staff members consistently identified Dr. Driver as their top choice, and the leadership profile developed from those conversations closely matched her leadership style and strengths.
Dr. Driver currently serves as assistant principal at Henderson Middle School, where she has supported campus operations and instructional initiatives while working closely with students, staff, and families.
“Dr. Driver has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of instruction, and a genuine commitment to our students and staff,” said Bowman. “Her experience, along with her ability to connect with people and lead with purpose, makes her the right choice to lead Henderson Middle School.”
Before becoming assistant principal, Dr. Driver served as an instructional coach at Henderson Middle School, working with teachers to strengthen classroom instruction and support student achievement. She previously taught for five years at Northside Intermediate, where she also served as a department lead.
"I am honored to lead Henderson Middle School and continue working with this exceptional team," said Driver. "This is a campus full of passionate educators who show up for kids every day, and I am excited to continue moving forward together.
Dr. Driver earned a Ph.D. in Educational Policy from Walden University in January 2024. She holds a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and certifications in Principal as Instructional Leader, Special Education, ESL, and Core Subjects.
