Allen Koch has been named Assistant Superintendent of Policy and Operations for Henderson Independent School District following action by the Henderson ISD Board of Trustees during its meeting Tuesday night.
“Allen Koch is a proven East Texas public school leader with a deep understanding of both instructional systems and district operations,” Superintendent Brian Bowman said. “His experience, work ethic, and leadership background make him an outstanding addition to our team as we continue strengthening our systems and serving our students at the highest level.”
“I am honored to join the leadership team at Henderson ISD and thankful to Mr. Bowman and the Board of Trustees for trusting me with this role,” Mr. Koch said. “I look forward to working with our leaders, teachers, and staff to build on the tradition of excellence that makes Henderson ISD such a strong school district.”
Mr. Koch brings more than three decades of experience in public education, including leadership roles at both the campus and district levels. He currently serves as Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Carthage ISD, where he has supported districtwide academic initiatives and operational systems since 2019.
Prior to that role, Mr. Koch served as a high school principal in multiple districts, including East Chambers ISD and Tatum ISD, where he led campus improvement efforts and supported staff development focused on student achievement.
His experience also includes service as an assistant principal and as an athletic director and head football coach, providing a broad perspective on school operations and student programs.
Mr. Koch began his career in education as a teacher and coach, teaching social studies courses including Advanced Placement Economics and Government while also leading athletic programs. He has been recognized for excellence in the classroom, including being named TCTA High School Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Koch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rice University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. He also holds principal certification and multiple teaching certifications across secondary content areas.
