Great job, Lions! ❤️💙 #TraditionOfExcellence

🚌 Thank you for your patience as we get the new school year rolling!
Our bus drivers do a great job, and they are working hard to get students to and from school safely each day. During these first few days, some buses may run a little later than expected as drivers get familiar with new routes, stops and students.
Things will settle into a more predictable routine as the school year gets underway. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and understanding.
And a big THANK YOU to our bus drivers and transportation staff for the important work they do for our students every day! ❤️💙

As we begin a new school year, we would like to remind you of the procedures for administering medication at school.
If your child requires medication during the school day—whether prescription or over-the-counter—a physician’s order and parent/guardian permission are both required for the school nurse to administer it. Please use the link below to access the Medication Permission Form, which includes sections for both physician and parent authorization:
https://aptg.co/jPVm3N
If your child has a life-threatening condition and needs to carry diabetes medication, an EpiPen, or an inhaler, a Self-Administration Form must be completed and signed by both your child’s physician and the parent/guardian. Please use the link below to access the form:

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep all students safe and healthy.
Sincerely,

After extensive discussion and continued monitoring of the weather, Henderson ISD has decided to move tonight’s graduation ceremony to 5:00 p.m. at Lion Stadium.
This decision was not made lightly. Earlier today, we met with our graduating seniors and asked for their input regarding the possibility of postponing the ceremony to another date, which could also require a change in location. The response from the Senior Class was overwhelming—they wanted graduation to remain at Lion Stadium and take place tonight.
While moving the ceremony to an earlier time does not completely eliminate the possibility of weather-related disruptions, current weather models indicate that it provides a much better opportunity to celebrate our graduates as planned. However, we want everyone to understand that weather conditions can change quickly, and there remains a possibility that we may need to temporarily pause or delay the ceremony due to lightning in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
This evening is about our students and celebrating one of the most significant milestones of their lives. We are committed to doing everything possible to make this a memorable and meaningful night for the Class of 2026.
We appreciate everyone’s continued flexibility, patience, and support, and we look forward to celebrating our graduates tonight.

UPDATE (Wednesday, 2 p.m.): We continue to closely monitor Thursday’s weather forecast as we prepare for Henderson High School graduation ceremonies at Lion Stadium.
At this time, graduation is still planned for Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. at Lion Stadium. Administrators are reviewing detailed weather data and working closely with Perry Weather, the same system used during athletic and outdoor events to help ensure the safety of students and guests during inclement weather.
Current forecasts indicate there may be opportunities Thursday evening to safely conduct the ceremony between passing weather conditions. While graduation currently remains scheduled for 8:00 p.m., the ceremony could begin slightly earlier or later depending on weather conditions.
Our goal is to safely hold graduation on Thursday evening and provide the Class of 2026 with the meaningful celebration they deserve. If weather conditions ultimately worsen to the point that it is unsafe to hold graduation Thursday night, contingency plans are already in place. These plans include moving the ceremony to Friday, either at Lion Stadium or the Rusk County Expo Center.
We appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility, and understanding as we continue monitoring conditions and preparing for several possible scenarios. Any updates or schedule changes will be communicated through official Henderson ISD communication channels as soon as decisions are made.
