There is currently a wide-spread power outage affecting the Wylie HISD campuses. We have contacted the power company and are waiting for an estimated time for the power to be restored. All students are safe at this time. Please do not pick up students from the campuses. As soon as we know more about the situation, we will contact all parents with plans moving forward. HISD Admin

HISD will return to normal schedules tomorrow! All campuses and busses will run at regular times. As we return to school, please be aware that some areas on campus may still be slick. Maintenance crews have been working all day to clear off any remaining ice but there may be areas, especially in shaded or covered areas, that could refreeze overnight. This could include steps, ramps, covered walkways, playgrounds, etc. Please be safe and stay warm and we will see you tomorrow!

HISD will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan 17. Although the roads in Henderson are looking much better today (thanks to the sun!), overnight temperatures will refreeze wet areas causing problems especially on rural roads in the county. Please stay safe and warm! - HISD Admin

On this day, Henderson ISD honors the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by reflecting on the enduring impact of Dr. King's work and his message of unity and kindness. Dr. King's commitment to a society where everyone is given the opportunity to thrive and his call for mutual respect and understanding continue to inspire us in helping all of our kids. Today is a chance for everyone to come together, inspired by Dr. King's vision, and work towards a brighter, more beneficial future for all.#MLKDay #HendersonISD

This evening’s 9th grade basketball game has been cancelled due to a personal medical emergency involving one of our students. Immediate care was provided, and the student is currently under medical supervision. The JV and varsity games have continued since they are being played at a different location. We understand this situation may be distressing to any students who witnessed the incident. Counselors are available for any students needing support. Thank you for your understanding and support. We wish the student a quick recovery.

Dear HISD Families, This evening we learned of a vehicle accident which has affected several families with students on multiple campuses. Tomorrow will be a difficult day for many, and we have already put plans in action for our crisis teams to be available on our campuses to assist both students and staff. Our thoughts and prayers remain tonight with the families of those affected by this sudden and incomprehensible tragedy. - HISD Administration

Power
Due to a city power outage are Northside and high school campuses are without power. Please do not pick up children at this time as we were expecting the power to come back on shortly. HHS students in dual credit will be released for their dual credit classes as normal, since the dual credit facility currently has power. We'll update you with more information when it becomes.
