Dear HISD Families,
This evening we learned of a vehicle accident which has affected several families with students on multiple campuses. Tomorrow will be a difficult day for many, and we have already put plans in action for our crisis teams to be available on our campuses to assist both students and staff. Our thoughts and prayers remain tonight with the families of those affected by this sudden and incomprehensible tragedy.

Power has been restored at all HISD campuses.

Due to a city power outage are Northside and high school campuses are without power. Please do not pick up children at this time as we were expecting the power to come back on shortly. Henderson police officers have reportedly taken a juvenile into custody in connection with recent threats made on social media against Henderson Middle School. The action comes following a two-day investigation initiated by HMS administrators and continued by the Henderson Police Department.
The incident began early Friday morning when a number of students reported seeing a social media post threatening to “shoot up” the school. After the initial investigation, administrators determined there was no imminent danger. However, HISD authorities and Henderson police officers continued investigating, eventually working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in order to uncover who was responsible for the threats. According to HPD, once the identity of the poster was discovered, authorities took a juvenile into custody for making “terroristic threats.” There is no other known threat at this time.
The safety of our students and staff remains Henderson ISD’s top priority and we are appreciative of both the students who quickly reported this threat to teachers and the Henderson Police Department for their efforts and ongoing commitment to protect the students and staff of HISD.
HISD Families - This morning the district was made aware of an anonymous social media post with a vague but threatening message. We have been investigating the report and shared it with law enforcement but have not found any viable, active threats to any campus. We will continue to monitor social media and other channels as we work to protect our students and staff. All students are safe at this time and campuses continue to operate under normal schedules. Our priority remains the safety of our students and staff and we will update you If any new information arises. - - HISD Admin
