Medical issue on campus - Around 2:45 p.m. this afternoon a Northside Intermediate student had an episode in class needing medical attention. The campus nurse immediately responded and an ambulance was called. Paramedics arrived on campus a short time later. Since this resulted in a brief disruption to the instructional day, we wanted to notify all parents about the incident. The student was treated by paramedics and is doing well. Ticket Sales for Henderson Lions Football vs. Athens game! Tickets will be sold at the Student Athletic Center on September 30 from 7-11 am & 1-3pm and then again on October 7 from 12-2pm.
Reminders! September 30 is an early release for students. October 3-7 will be our Fall Break and there will be no school. October 10 will be a professional development day and there will be no school for students. Classes will resume October 11.
Earlier today a number of Henderson Middle School students reported to campus administrators that last Friday they overheard another student making threats against students and the campus. Administrators, working with both campus resource officers and the local police department, immediately began investigating the incident. It was quickly determined there was no current or prior danger to any HISD students or staff. The campus was not placed in “lock-down” and the planned schedule for this week has not changed. Unfortunately, many false rumors have been circulating concerning the reports. A complete investigation is ongoing and many of the specific details of the incident remain confidential. However, we would like to thank the students who, in an effort to keep people safe, came forward to make reports. The safety of all our students and staff remains our highest priority and HISD will continue to enforce all appropriate disciplinary measures whenever their safety is threatened.

Statement concerning a medical incident at the High School

(September 19, 2022) Around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon a high school student had a seizure in class. The other students in the class were moved to another room and the high school campus was placed on a brief “hold.” During this hold, all students were required to remain in their classrooms while paramedics arrived on campus and responded to the scene. Since this resulted in a disruption to the instructional day, we wanted to notify parents about the incident. The student was treated by paramedics and is doing well. We wish the student a speedy recovery.

It's time for Mini Lionette camp! Camp will be Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at HHS in the varsity gym. Please view the images for more information and the registration form. Power has been restored for Wylie Elementary and Wylie Primary. Student swill continue their regular school day.
Due to Power Outages at Henderson Middle School, we will be moving all middle school students to the High School for lunch and the rest of the day. If you want to pick up your middle school student you may pick them up at middle school before 11:30 am or the high school after 12:00 noon. Busses will run at their normal times.
Montgomery Achievement Center students will be moved to Wylie Elementary for the rest of the day. If you have any questions, you may call the main middle school number at 903-655-5400.

We are greatly saddened by the loss of one of our 3rd Grade students and his father in a tragic car accident earlier today. Three more of our students were also injured in the accident. Counselors will be available tomorrow for both our students and our staff. Our hearts are heavy and we grieve with the families in this most difficult of times.
Ooops! We want to let elementary and primary parents know we had a student at WES accidentally set off the fire alarm during student pick-up. There was no emergency and everyone is fine, but fire crews responded before it got canceled. Sorry first responders -- We appreciate you!
