🎟️ Reminder: All Henderson ISD Athletic Events Now Use Electronic Tickets! 🏈🏀⚽
This is our second year using electronic tickets for all athletic events, and it’s important to note that all schools in our UIL district now do the same. By switching to e-tickets, we’re making events safer by reducing the risks of theft and fraud associated with cash handling. Plus, you can conveniently purchase your tickets ahead of time!
🎫 Get your tickets here: https://www.HendersonISD.org/tickets
Please remember that students attending games as spectators must be accompanied by an adult unless they are high school students with their school-issued ID.
Thank you for supporting our athletes, and we look forward to seeing you at the games! 🐾

Reminder for Parents and Guardians:
New state guidelines now require a physician's order for administering both prescription and over-the-counter medications at school. This includes medications such as ADHD medications, inhalers, seizure medications, as well as cough drops, Tylenol, Advil, TUMS, Pepto-Bismol, and similar over-the-counter items.
Knowing that this change is different from years past, we want to make the process as easy as possible. Please follow the steps below to ensure your child's medication needs are met:
1. Obtain the Medication Permission Form:
o Contact your campus nurse to get the required medication permission form or click on the QR code to print the form.
2. Complete the Form:
o Have the form filled out and signed by both your child's physician and yourself.
3. Submit the Form:
o Return the completed and signed form to the campus nurse.
4. For Self-Carry Medications:
o If your child needs to carry life-saving medications (such as diabetes medications, epi pens, inhalers, etc.), complete the self-carry form with signatures from both the physician and yourself. These forms are available from the campus nurse.
Important: The school nurse will not be able to administer any medication without a completed permission form on file.
Please be aware that the Texas Board of Nursing will be providing new information in the coming weeks, which may lead to changes in our current medication administration practices. We will keep you updated as soon as we receive and review these updates.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Sincerely,
HISD Nurses

A medical incident occurred this afternoon at our Primary campus. A staff member experienced a minor medical issue, and our campus nurse promptly responded. Out of an abundance of caution, paramedics were called to assist, but transportation to the hospital was not necessary. This incident did not disrupt any student activities, and everyone is safe. We appreciate the swift and professional response from our nurse and the paramedics. - HISD Administration

From Interim Superintendent Jim Dunlap: "Over the past few days, Clay Freeman and I have visited at length about our mutual desire to improve several areas at HISD that require strong leadership in our district operations. Mr. Freeman is HISD Athletic Director. That has not changed. Clay has agreed to assist HISD in two critical areas in support of the instructional program: maintenance and transportation. He has experience as a campus leader and a keen awareness of public expectations. We agree that his arrangement will not distract or interfere with his Athletic Director duties. He is the right person to do this as we continue the Tradition of Excellence that is HISD."

Dear HMS Families,
This morning, a fire alarm was triggered at our middle school after smoke was observed coming from the ductwork in a classroom. Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated all students from the building and called the fire department to investigate.
Crews clearing the scene at this time after determining the exact cause of the smoke in an AC unit. We want to assure you that all students are safe, and we will resume classes shortly.
